Meet the Founder: Alessandra Monterrosa

I’m Alessandra — founder, baker, and the hands behind Moondough.
My path to bread wasn’t linear. I spent over four years as a private and superyacht chef, creating refined, personalized dining experiences aboard luxury vessels from the Mediterranean to the Bahamas. That time taught me precision, discipline, and the joy of curating food that speaks to people on a deeper level.

How it began

In December 2024, I became a semi-finalist in The Greatest Baker — ranked in the top 1% of over 12,000 competitors nationwide. It was my sourdough bread, powered by Aurora, that captured hearts and votes, raising thousands for charity and proving the power of purposeful baking. The experience, backed by overwhelming community support in Broward and North Miami, was the catalyst that gave Moondough life.
 

Today, I blend yacht-galley precision with fermentation artistry — crafting bread that heals, excites, and inspires. Moondough is a brand rooted in love, light, and legacy — and we’re only just getting started.
